How Whapi.Cloud works today

• Connection model. Each channel is a WhatsApp account linked as a device, so you keep using WhatsApp on your phone at the same time.
• Pricing. $35 per number per month on monthly billing, or $29 per month on annual billing, with no per-message fees. Discounts for multiple numbers are available on request.
• Free sandbox. Up to 5 active conversations per month, 150 messages per day and 1,000 API requests per month, for development.
• Trial. A 5-day trial of the paid plan.
• Features. Groups, Channels, Status (stories), Communities and webhooks through the API.

When to choose Whapi.Cloud

• You are prototyping and a free sandbox with no time limit matters more than production features.
• You rely heavily on Channels, Status or Communities endpoints, which Whapi.Cloud exposes as dedicated APIs.
• You prefer annual billing and a single number, where the price gap is small.

When to choose D-API

• You need the official WhatsApp API too. On D-API the official and unofficial connections use the same send routes; the type is set when you create the session. See the official WhatsApp API.

Migrating from Whapi.Cloud to D-API

1. Isolate the provider in your code. Put the calls you use (create connection, get QR, send text, send media) behind an internal interface.
2. Write the D-API adapter. Authentication is an API key in the Authorization header; each number is a session with a sessionId you choose. In Node.js the SDK covers most of it:

3. Adapt your webhook receiver. D-API events arrive in an envelope with event, sessionId and data. Details in WhatsApp webhooks.
4. Move numbers in batches. Connect the number on D-API, confirm the connected status, then unlink the Whapi.Cloud session.
